Epic Mohammad movie in pipeline….

Islam

An epic movie about Islam’s Prophet Mohammad is in the pipeline, backed by a producer of the Lord of the Rings.

American Barrie Osborne, who also produced The Matrix, told Reuters the film would be an “international epic” aimed at “bridging cultures”.

In accordance with Islamic rules, the Prophet cannot be depicted on screen. Images of the Prophet are considered blasphemous by Muslims.

The $150m (£91m) English language film should go into production in 2011.

2010 talks

Qatari media company Alnoor Holdings, which is behind the plans, said it wanted to attract the “best international talent” for the film.

“The film will educate people about the true meaning of Islam,” Osborne said.

Raja Sharif, vice president of international projects at Alnoor, told Reuters he expected to conclude deals next year.

X Factor

Yesterday saw the remaining 9 hopefuls rocking it out for their place in the next round, here is my (very concise) review:

Joe McElderry, Dont Stop Believin’: OK, so we have established he has a good voice, now I’m starting to like him. Good song choice! Hewis Rating: ★★★½☆

Lucie Jone, Sweet Child of Mine: Every week this girl shows us she has one of the best voices in the competition, but I can feel no passion from her. Hewis Rating: ★★★★☆

Danyl Johnson, I dont wanna miss a thing: Man this bloke needs a slap! You have an amazing opportunity, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Totally out of tune!  Ruined one of my favourite songs. Hewis Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Lloyd Daneils, I Kissed A Girl: If people voted based on singing, he would have been out before the show started, unfortunately, the majority of votes seemed to be cast on looks! Hewis Rating: ★★☆☆☆

Stacey Solomon, Somewhere only we know:  I think there is only three people in this competition that have elements of the whole package, Stacey is one of them. Great song! Hewis Rating: ★★★★½

Jamie Archer, Get your rocks off: Now thats what it means to have the X Factor!!! Definately my Fave! Hewis Rating: ★★★★★

Rachel Adedeji, One: Her best performance to date, Danni has worked out how to get the public to like her! She also seems no longer to be Stacey’s clone! Hewis Rating: ★★★★½

John & Edward, We Will Rock You: IT WAS FUN!!!! And they are more in tune than Danyl was! Hewis Rating: ★★½☆☆

Olly Murs, Come Together: Performance of the night!!! My joint favourite! Hewis Rating: ★★★★★

That’s how you Button it……

Jenson Button

Congratulations to Jenson Button for winning the 2009 Formula 1 Drivers Championship!!! Here is what the beeb had to say about it:

Jenson Button sealed the drivers’ championship with a sublime recovery drive at a dramatic Brazilian Grand Prix won by Red Bull’s Mark Webber.

Brawn’s English driver started from 14th but executed a series of spectacular early overtaking moves before finishing the race fifth.

He was already set to clinch the crown when a late puncture dropped main title threat Rubens Barrichello to eighth.

Brawn still took the constructors’ championship in their debut season.

Barrichello, who badly wanted to win on a circuit he was born in the shadow of, was running third before his unlucky puncture smoothed team-mate Button’s path to the title he seemed destined for since his explosive start to the season.

BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica was second ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton while six drivers retired at Interlagos.

Red Bull’s German Sebastian Vettel, who started just behind Button, finished fourth while Toro Rosso’s Sebastien Buemi was a season-best seventh.

Button’s maiden world title overshadowed the grand prix, but the race certainly delivered a fitting scene for a deserved success.

With the stands bubbling over with atmosphere, anticipation was sky-high at the Sao Paulo track where the world championship has now been decided in the past five years.

And the drama began as soon the race got under way.

Barrichello made a rapid start while Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen jumped up to third using his energy-boost (Kers) button before suffering front-wing damage in a frenetic first lap.

But a contentious first-lap collision took out Toyota’s Jarno Trulli and Force India’s Adrian Sutil and led the pair to engage in a furious argument at the side of the track – both blaming the other. The crash also took out Renault’s Fernando Alonso.

Trulli was later reprimanded and fined $10,000 (£6,140) for his behaviour following the incident.

Seconds later, in the pits, McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen pulled away with the fuel hose still attached to his car.

The leaking fuel immediately caught fire right in Raikkonen’s face, although it quickly died away and both Finn were able to rejoin the race.

After the race, Kovalainen was handed a 25-second penalty, demoting him from ninth to 12th, and McLaren fined $50,000 for releasing him in an unsafe manner.

All the while 29-year-old Button had managed to steer clear, literally, of any trouble to jump up into ninth place after starting the race down in a potentially-disastrous position near the back of the pack.

Buoyed by another stroke of luck in a season in which he has worked so hard for it, he fearlessly set about improving his position with a superb display of bravery and surgeon-like precision once the safety car came in on lap six.

Charging Button first used persistence to take Romain Grosjean’s Renault on the outside to move into eighth before eating up the Williams of Kazuki Nakajima to go seventh and then quickly setting about Toyota’s Kamui Kobayashi.

The Japanese Formula 1 debutant defended strongly.

But Button, who had been losing time to Barrichello and Webber up front, used all his nous to dummy himself into a clever pass on lap 24.

Barrichello, meanwhile, had not quite managed to put enough space between himself and Australia’s Webber and the Brazilian lost the lead during the first pit stops.

His hopes of victory faded immediately as he was overtaken by Vettel after rejoining and then got caught up in traffic.

Button continued his aggressive approach despite having moved into a decent position, and after pitting on lap 29 he managed to execute another overtaking manoeuvre as he crucially slipped past Buemi.

Nakajima careered off the track at the end of the back straight on lap 31 after Kobayashi moved over on him.

At this point Webber was clocking fastest laps for fun and team-mate Vettel was driving superbly well, both drivers pushing their impressive Red Bull cars to the limit.

Button – who won six of the first seven races of 2009 but has endured a tough second half of the season – met the test of nerve he faced until the finish head on and in style, unlocking a flood of emotion as he crossed the finish line.

“The last few races have been a bit stressful for me, especially qualifying,” a jubilant Button told BBC Sport.

“But that race today, to me, was worthy of becoming world champion. Kobayashi is absolutely crazy, very aggressive. It was a great race, really enjoyable. That was the perfect way to do it.”

On 89 points, Button heads to Abu Dhabi on 1 November with an unassailable lead in the championship while Vettel has leapfrogged Barrichello into second on 74 with the Brazilian now on 72.

“It was a great car to drive all year,” said Barrichello. “Jenson won it and deserved it but he won it in the first six or seven races.

“The second half of the season was mine… and I fought really hard. I’m pleased for Jenson as a friend and as a great champion.”

Hamilton started the race from back in 17th but the man who now hands over his world crown to compatriot Button was typically aggressive as he made the most of the circumstances that he encountered to finish on the podium.

Following investigation by stewards after the race Kovalainen was awarded a drive-through penalty for his mishap in the pits, a 25-second addition to his final time which drops him to 13th position.

McLaren also received a £30,000 fine for releasing him in an unsafe manner.

Stewards decided to take ‘no further action’ on the Sutil-Trulli incident, though Toyota’s Italian was fined £6,000 for failing to leave the track as required and confronting Sutil in an aggressive manner.

Nakajima retired after his crash mid-way through, while Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld could not make the distance.

X Factor, Week 2 – A Review…..

X Factor

Wow, what a show, we have seen the 11 hopefulls perform this week, now for my (very concise) review:

Lucie Jones – How Will I Know: Again a great start to the show, great voice, but not sure if she has that X Factor. Hewis Rating: ★★★½☆

Olly Murs – Fool in Love: Once more Essex boy done good, he’s got the voice, he’s got the moves and he’s got the style. Rapidly becoming one of my favourites. Hewis Rating: ★★★★☆

Miss Frank – All the man that I need: Just when I was starting to think that a girl group might do well in this competition and then this happens. Utter catastrophe! Hewis Rating: ★½☆☆☆

Rachel Adedeji – If I were a boy: Picked herself up after being in the bottom two last week, and gave one of the best performances of the night! Top notch! Hewis Rating: ★★★½☆

Danyl Johnson – I Didn’t Know My Own Strength: Rapidly losing interest in this guy, I don’t deny that todays performance was good, but I find myself nervous watching him. Hewis Rating: ★★★☆☆

Lloyd – Bleeding Love: The dark horse of the night. When I found out the song he was singing I cringed, but he gave a great version of it! He is this years Eoghan! Hewis Rating: ★★★½☆

John & Edward – Oops I did it again!: The worry is that people are starting to find these two entertaining and will vote to keep them again to see what they are gonna do next, thus someone else will undeservedly leave. We shall see tomorrow! Hewis Rating: ★☆☆☆☆

Rikki Loney – R.E.S.P.E.C.T: I don’t agree with Simon on this one, I thought this was a great version of the song, he looked a lot better with his smoother style tonight, keep the hat off!!! Hewis Rating: ★★★½☆

Joe – Where do broken hearts go?: I have the same opinion as last week, he has a great voice, looks like a pop star (Gareth Gates style) but I wouldn’t buy his album! Hewis Rating: ★★★½☆

Jamie Archer - Hurt:  I think this guy is soon to take over from Danyl as my favourite in the competition. I love his style, and love his music! Hewis Rating: ★★★★☆

Stacey Solomon - At Last: Love this girl, though worried she is becoming a parody of herself! The song was great, she done a real nice job of it. Simon was right, she didnt look comfortable in the dress. Hewis Rating: ★★★★☆

Elimination Prediction: Unfortunately for Louis but I think Miss Frank will be leaving us tomorrow, and I think joining them in the bottom two could be Rikki.

Dark Horse: As I mentioned earlier, Lloyd shocked me tonight, he took a very hard song and made it his own! Not a great singer but the girls are gonna love him. Good on yer mate!

Judge of the Week: This has to go to Mr Simon Cowell for some fantastic song choices this week! Also not afraid to tell Chezza Cole that she had made the wrong choices!

Stay tuned for tomorrows review of the results show, which will see an exclusive performance from Whitney Houston, and our very own Cheryl Cole performing her new song ‘Live’!!!

Christmas murder in EastEnders (Spoiler alert!)…..

Archie Mitchell

From yahoo.co.uk

There’ll be no silent night in EastEnders this Christmas as a major character is reportedly set to be bumped off in a shock storyline.

The murder will lead to a whodunnit which see several of the show’s favourites come under suspicion.

Viewers of the BBC soap will see Archie Mitchell meet his maker on Christmas day when his body is discovered in the Queen vic.

With a long list of enemies including his daughters Roxy and Ronnie, along with nephew Phil, the police will have their work cut out to find out who is responsible.

An EastEnders’ insider told The Sun: “Since Archie first arrived in Walford he’s managed to lie, cheat and manipulate everyone around him.

“Over the next few months he is set to get even worse – so it’s fair to say he’s made enemies of enough people who’ll be glad to see the back of him.”

Larry Lamb, who plays Archie in the soap, has already filmed his final scenes.

Are you looking forward to this Christmas murder in EastEnders? Who do you think the culprit will be? Let us know what you think…

X Factor in chaos over Louis’ grief……

Louis & Stephen

From the London Lite:

Louis Walsh is “unlikely” to appear on X Factor this Saturday as he is attending Stephen Gately’s funeral, his agent said today.

It will mean the 57-year-old will be in Dublin to pay his final respects to the Boyzone star just hours before the show.

Walsh will crucially not be there to introduce his acts and defend them against the criticism from fellow judges. Producers were meeting today to discuss the format of Sunday’s live results show if Walsh cannot appear at all this weekend. He missed last Sunday’s X Factor after being told just before that Gately had been found dead in his apartment in Majorca. Today Walsh paid a tearful tribute to his friend, saying “We’re all in shock. Nobody can believe it – Boyzone, me nobody. The boys are devestated. It’s like theyy have lost their very best friend, and me too. Stephen was never happier when I met him last Monday. I never saw him in better health or better form. We had a laugh as usual, things were going so well – I still can’t believe he’s gone.”

The pop manager’s fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell said: “We all know how close Louis and Stephen were and how much he meant to Louis. We will all support Louis in whatever he needs to do and have total respect and understanding of his wishes.”

Today a spokesman for Walsh said a decision has not yet been made on whether he would fly back to London to be on the show on Sunday. She said “I spoke to him last night and it is highly unlikely he will appear on Saturday’s X Factor as he’ll be in Ireland. I’m not sure about whether he will be on Sunday’s show, it will depend on how he feels. But I can tell you, even though it’s been a difficult week, he has been in constant touch with his bands.” Before the date of the funeral was announced, Cowell’s sidekick Sinitta said she thought Walsh would be on the show as he did not want to let down his two remaining acts – John and Edward and Miss Frank.

An X Factor spokesman said Walsh had been carrying on as normal as best he could under the circumstances, had chosen songs for his acts and was “very much in the loop” with their progress.

But they added that as the date of the funeral was only announced last night, no decision had yet been made on the format of Saturday’s show.

Gately’s family last nnight revealed that the singer’s funeral would take place on Saturday at St Laurence O’Toole’s Church in Dublin – a few hundred yards from where he grew up.

Is Danyl Johnson Gay?????

danyl johnson

After Danni Minogue’s STUPID comments, the whole of Britain is wondering “Is X-Factor hottie Danyl Johnson gay?”

Nope. He’s not. According to The Mirror, Danyl is a “free spirit” who dates men and women. He even has the hots for Simon Cowell.

Here is what he said on the matter:

“I don’t like to conform or be put into one box or another and if I’m honest all the judges are good-looking. If I like someone’s personality it doesn’t really matter what they look like or what sex they are.

“Dannii and Cheryl are both beautiful and I’m a bit cheeky, so I played up to them a bit during the performance to get them on my side.

“I suppose if I had to choose, I’d prefer Dannii because she’s got a great personality. I reckon you could have a good night out with her – she’d be up for dancing and a laugh. I would love to have her as my mentor so I could get to know her a bit better.”

X Factor….My views so far….

 x-factor

So with bootcamp over, the topic of x-factor related conversations has gone from ‘I like/hate the new format of the auditions’, to ‘Who’s gonna win?’. So here is my predictions of what is gonna take place from now until the final:

Judges houses, who will make it to the live show?

Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole & The Boys:

1.Duane Lamont   2. Rikki Loney   3. Ethan Boroian

Duane Lamont                                Rikki Loney                            Ethan Boroian

Duane looks and sounds modern and I genuinely think there is room for him in the pop market. Rikki has the bouncebackability factor, and Cheryl will find it hard to send him home from this stage for a second time. Ethan is the eye candy for the girls, not a great voice but if my flatmates views represent the views of the country then he will stay and stay for quite some time, however there is only so far looks can get you! I can’t honestly say that there is anyone in this group that will win X-Factor this year.

Danni Minogue

Danni Minogue & the Girls

1. Rachel Adedeji    2. stacey solomon  3.Lucie

Rachel Adedeji                                 Stacey Solomon                       Lucie Jones

Slightly sticking to the last formula, Rachel is the cool, modern one, with a voice to match think Rhianna with Amy Winehouse vocal capabilities. Stacey is the character of the group, the typical Essex Girl who also has the ’sob-story’ that she has a little baby to provide for. Lucie Jones however is someone I think could make the final, she has one of the best voices in the competition, but something is telling me that she doesn’t have that little extra something to actually win the whole thing. The only other one that could be in the final 3 and a little bit of a black horse is Stacey McLean, as she is already a D-list pop star apparently so Danni may want to go with someone who has a little experience in the industry. We shall see….

 louis walsh

Louis Walsh & The Groups

1. John & Edward     2. kandy rain    3.Miss Frank

John & Edward                               Kandy Rain                             Miss Frank

Well what can I say? The groups this year are definately the worse since X Factor begun, not a hint of a JLS or even a Same Difference!!! John & Edward are the most annoying creatures to ever grace the X Factor stage, but Louis will pick them because of the Irish Connection. Miss Frank is a group put together at the last minute because there was an obvious lack of talent in the group auditions, it most likely Louis’s idea though so he will put them through to prove himself right. Finally the only group that may stand half a chance is Kandy Rain, purely because they look like a group, think Pussycat Dolls without any decent singers. My predictions are that all of the groups will go out before any of the others.

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell & The Over 25’s

1. Jamie Archer2. danyl johnson3.Daniel Pearce

Wow, have I saved the best for last. This group is so good that I can’t decide on the third one. Jamie Archer is a pop star, he already looks like he should be on stage at Glastonbury, his rendition of Sex on Fire made me dance in my seat and I think he will go fire. Danyl Johnson has THE best voice in the competition, and although he wasn’t great in bootcamp, in my opinion he is the one to beat. And then it comes to between Daniel Pearce, Nicole Lawrence & Olly Murs; I think Olly is likeable but don’t think his voice is strong enough, he showed that in a mediocre performance of Elton John’s Your Song, so he is a no. But it is tight between Nicole & Daniel, Nicole has a great voice, she is the female representation in the overs and she has a sob story which we know Simon likes. However Daniel has proved he can win (he was a winner in Pop Stars-The Rivals, the TV show that shot Cheryl Cole to fame), and he would inevitably sell more albums than Nicole would, which after all is what Simon is looking for which is why I have gone with Daniel, but we will have to see!

Who will go out each week?

So here is the order in which I think each act will be eliminated;

Week 1: John & Edward, surely they can’t be kept in!

Week 2: Miss Frank, they just don’t bond together, get them off!!!

Week 3: Kandy Rain, Louis has a mental breakdown as all his acts leave first!

Week 4: Ethan Boroian, As I said earlier, there is only a certain point that looks can get you to, and that’s week 4!

Week 5: Duane Lamont, Just doesn’t have the extra umph to get any further in the competition.

Week 6: Stacey Solomon, It’s curtains for the Essex girl as the judegs realise she can only do ballads.

Week 7: Daniel Pearce, Should be in the final, but will come up against someone like Jamie or Lucie and the judges will keep the youngsters in.

Week 8: Rikki Loney, He’s good but not good enough, as the Scot heads back up North!

Week 9: Rachel Adedeji, Unfortunately comes up against Jamie and the judges plump for the most versatile of the two.

THE FINAL: Jamie Archer, Danyl Johnson & Lucie Jones reach the final. Jamie teams up with the Kings of Leon for a superb rendition of Sex on Fire, Danyl Johnson sings a duet of my endless love $with Mariah Carey and Lucie Jones joins Miley Cirus for a rendition of her new Christmas Ballad!

3rd Place goes to Jamie Archer

2nd Place to Lucie Jones

And the winner of X Factor 2009 is………….. Danyl Johnson!
