So we have been dazzled once more, here is my (very concise) review:
Stacey, Son of a Preacher Man: Erm, IMO the worst of her performances, to far out of her comfort zone. Did look good though. Hewis Rating:

Olly, Twist & Shout: Disagree with Louis, fantastic song, from a great film, with superb dancing, and most importantly of all, fantastically performed by Olly! Who by the way is now my favourite. Hewis Rating:

Lloyd, Stand by Me: I agree with Louis & Simon, he is way out of his depth, has to be the one to go this week. Hewis Rating:

Jamie, Crying: Ahhhh Louis makes me angry with his little rule book, the song was from a film, who cares if no one has heard of it. Saying that, it was my least favourite of his performances, it showed that he doesn’t have a strong voice. He should stick to being the rocker, which is what he does best. Hewis Rating:

Lucie, This is me: Didn’t know the song, and didn’t like it. I was dissapointed that she didn’t sing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ or ‘I will always love you’, which from her intial audition we know she can sing, and well. Saying that, the girl done good, in a disney-good type way. We saw more of her personality tonight than we have in all of the other shows put together. Although did we see a bit of Stacey in her comments afterwards? Hewis Rating:

Danyl, Purple Rain: For some reason I didn’t want to like his performance, but I did. I’m not sure I like his singing style, and there is still an unlikability about this guy, but his performance was good (although not Ruth Lorenzo good). A couple of things confused me, why hand in the pocket? Why poppy on his trousers and not on his chest, to me that is slightly disrespectful. And why does he look like a completely different person when he smiles? But all in all, this was one of his best performances. Hewis Rating:

Jedward, Ghostbusters: I HATE to say it, but it was one of the most entertaining performances of the night. They put a smile on my face, and that is more than what Lloyd does! Hewis Rating:

Joe, Circle of Life: When I heard this song choice, I thought, oh sh*t this is gonna be the cheesiest performance so far, but somehow it wasn’t. What it was, was a brilliant vocal performance, with great backing, and brilliant dancing. Along with Olly this was my favourite performance of the night. Hewis Rating:

Well, what a show! I was very dissapointed when I saw the song list, missing out songs like ‘I don’t wanna miss a thing’, ‘I will always love you’ etc etc was ridiculous. However, there was some fantastic performances tonight, including Olly & Joe.
It is hard to predict who will accompany Lloyd in the bottom two, somehow I don’t think it will be Jedward, and if I had to choose, I would say it would be Jamie, although I don’t think he deserves to be in the bottom two.
Looking forward to tomorrows results show, with performances from Leona Lewis & Black Eyed Peas!

China’s ambassador to London revealed Thursday she is a fan of hit TV talent show “The X Factor” — even though some of her embassy colleagues have complained about living near the show’s contestants.
Fu Ying said she had her “favourite contestants” on the show, which drew a record audience of 15.8 million viewers last week and has produced spin-offs around the world, although she said it would be “unfair” to name them.
Her comments were contained in an article in The Sun newspaper, amid reports that Chinese embassy staff living near the contestants’ house in north London had complained about the noise caused by hoards of fans standing outside.
“I learned about the ‘X Factor’ in the neighbourhood from embassy colleagues living nearby who complained about the noise made by young fans outside the X Factor house,” the ambassador wrote.
“My daughter emailed me wondering if she could fly in and join the screaming fans!
“I have to admit that I also enjoy watching the ‘X Factor’ when there is time and I have my favourite contestants.”
But she said all the acts had “great qualities”, adding: “It is is going to be a very close competition and will be difficult for the judges, who are of impressively high quality.”
Fu said the excitement sparked by the show in Britain was similar to that surrounding Chinese shows, including the “Kuai Girls” this year which attracted 150,000 contestants and drew an audience of 230 million viewers to the finals.
“The beauty of such shows is that they give young people a chance to realise their dreams,” Fu added.
“When I was young the circumstance in China was different, I’m glad my daughter’s generation is lucky to have more opportunities in life thanks to the progress and prosperity that China today offers.”

Adding yet another pop queen to their guest list this series the South American songstress is to perform her new single Did It Again on The X Factor on Sunday 15th November.
Set to be released on December 14th, Did It Again follows her massive hit She Wolf, which remained in the UK top five for five weeks. Not only that, her current album also entered the album chart at number four making it Shakira’s fastest selling album to date in the UK… this girl is on fire!
So get ready to shake your hips like they come from Columbia!

So, what did you think?
Two great performances from two great groups that are poles apart. First up was Bon Jovi with a great rendition of their new song, they really showed X Factor how to sing live. Next up was JLS, and for some strange reason there was a slight feeling of pride seeing the ‘fab-four’ up on stage, knowing that my votes last year contributed ever so minutely to them being where they are now! Their new song ‘Everybody in Love’ is very catchy, and I would be suprised if they are not the ones to knock Cheryl off of the top spot when it is released.
Next up is the results and I have to say that I’m not suprised with the bottom two this week. It is obvious that a section of the public like ‘Jedward’, although they must all hide-out together, as no-one ever admits to voting for them. Lloyd is OK but he is not great, and the only thing keeping him in is his looks, and the fact that he was in the bottom 2 this week tells us that looks can’t get you to the final. When it comes down to Rachel, I am not suprised she was in the bottom 2 as people are not voting for her, she has an amazing voice, last night was her best performance and one of the best performances of the night, but at the end of the day there are other people in the competition with great voices and bigger personalities, everyone has to leave the competition and tonight was her night!
Man of the Match: This accolade has to go to Simon Cowell, every week his comments get funnier and funnier. I love the banter between the judges, it is half the fun of the show, so those of you that are moaning about it taking over the show, would you rather this panel or the Strictly panel?YAWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to next week already!!!!!!!

Yesterday saw the remaining 9 hopefuls rocking it out for their place in the next round, here is my (very concise) review:
Joe McElderry, Dont Stop Believin’: OK, so we have established he has a good voice, now I’m starting to like him. Good song choice! Hewis Rating:

Lucie Jone, Sweet Child of Mine: Every week this girl shows us she has one of the best voices in the competition, but I can feel no passion from her. Hewis Rating:

Danyl Johnson, I dont wanna miss a thing: Man this bloke needs a slap! You have an amazing opportunity, stop feeling sorry for yourself. Totally out of tune! Ruined one of my favourite songs. Hewis Rating:

Lloyd Daneils, I Kissed A Girl: If people voted based on singing, he would have been out before the show started, unfortunately, the majority of votes seemed to be cast on looks! Hewis Rating:

Stacey Solomon, Somewhere only we know: I think there is only three people in this competition that have elements of the whole package, Stacey is one of them. Great song! Hewis Rating:

Jamie Archer, Get your rocks off: Now thats what it means to have the X Factor!!! Definately my Fave! Hewis Rating:

Rachel Adedeji, One: Her best performance to date, Danni has worked out how to get the public to like her! She also seems no longer to be Stacey’s clone! Hewis Rating:

John & Edward, We Will Rock You: IT WAS FUN!!!! And they are more in tune than Danyl was! Hewis Rating:

Olly Murs, Come Together: Performance of the night!!! My joint favourite! Hewis Rating:

Wow, my socks have been completely rocked off! Cant wait for the results show tonight, with performances from Bon Jovi and JLS!

Leona Lewis will return to the show that catapulted to her international stardom.
The Bleeding Love star will perform her new single Happy on the X Factor’s Sunday night results show on November 8.
It is her first live TV performance since she was allegedly struck in the face at a book signing at Waterstone’s in the Piccadilly area of London.
Peter Kowalczyk, 29, was charged with assaulting the singer and the case has been adjourned at City of Westminster Magistrates’ Court until November 23. He has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and is being examined by psychiatrists.
After cancelling an appearance on BBC’s The One Show and a two-day promotional tour in Germany, Leona, 24, has vowed to carry on with her life as normal. She told Sky News: “I don’t like to dwell on the negatives, I’m a very positive person.”
It will be the star’s second live performance on The X Factor since winning the competition in 2006. Last year she performed her No 1 hit Bleeding Love.
Leona will be sharing the stage with US rappers The Black Eyed Peas, who have held the top spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the last six months.
This weekend’s X Factor will feature the first behind-the-scenes look at the making of the contestants’ new charity single You Are Not Alone, with proceeds going to Great Ormond Street hospital.
Twins John and Edward kept the production team amused in between takes by teaching them the moves to their Britney Spears dance routine for Oops I Did It Again.
Last year’s X Factor charity single Hero, for Help For Heroes, reached No 1 and became the fastest selling single of the year.

X Factor judge Simon Cowell showed off his softer side when he became patron of charity Children’s Hospices UK.
At a visit to CHASE hospice care based in Surrey to announce his patronage, the talent show judge was a surprise guest for the families and children who used the centre.
Speaking to Sky News, Cowell, who recently celebrated his 50th birthday with an A-list bash, said: “I came into the room – there were probably about 80 families there, and they gave me a real grilling.
“The kids were asking who I liked and who I didn’t; even if I was a boxer or y-front man. I offered three of them jobs on the show to replace me.”
Cowell – who has visited the hospice before – spoke of a friendship he had struck up with a teenager Sian Tolfree and said visiting the hospice had given him more perspective.
Cowell said of Sian: “It was something that developed, more as a friendship than anything else.
“We became buddies.
“You get to know her family. She’s a regular at the show now – she’s the best critic. I’m always getting text messages from her.”
Sian, of Leatherhead, Surrey, said: “He’s like an uncle. He’s got a heart of gold really.
“He loves animals, children and chocolate. He’s a bit of a softie. He’s not a hard man at heart.”
Cowell has supported CHASE – the hospice he visited – for four years, but now joins Xtra Factor presenter Holly Willoughby and PR guru Max Clifford as a patron for Children’s Hospices UK.
He said: “The irony is when you come down to a place like this, what should be an incredibly sad place is a very happy place.
“That’s the weird thing. That’s why they do such a special job here. They make this an incredibly happy environment for the kids and it’s helpful for the families.
“You come away from a place like this thinking whatever troubles you have in the world are nothing. We get involved in silly ratings wars and battles and things that don’t matter, genuinely.”
And, Cowell said, the children he met all said they were not fans of fellow X Factor judge Louis Walsh.
He said: “They can’t stand Louis and they like me. So we’re absolutely on the same side.
“But they would probably say the opposite if Louis came down here!”
Talking of X Factor, Cowell reiterated his dislike for controversial Irish twins John and Edward – Jedward to their fans.
He said: “When you do a show like this and allow the public to vote you have to live with vote but it’s not going quite according to plan at the moment.
“I genuinely thought they would last a week or two weeks at the most.
“But they seem to be building up popularity which I have to confess is terrifying.
The idea, at the end, where they say the winner is Jedward – like I said before, and I mean it – I would be on the fastest plane out of the country that night.”
But the twins were not the only ones to get criticism.
Cowell likened Essex-girl Stacey Solomon to a singing candle.
He said: “She hasn’t moved in three weeks. I’d rather see Danyl than that any day.”
And Cowell also dismissed reports of warring judges – saying the competitive rivalry stretched only as far as the live shows.
He said: “In truth, deep down we all really like each other. But there is something about that show when you hit the live shows, everybody gets seriously competitive.”
He also revealed a meeting was called last Sunday night after the second live show of the weekend, but denied it was a “crisis meeting”.
He said: “It was simply to say I thought that Saturday’s show song choices and performances weren’t as good as I would have expected and that we have got to dig a bit deeper.
“We’ve got a responsibility while they’re in the show to make them as good as possible.”
One young fan happy to see Cowell was nine-year-old Grace Cann, who has had leukaemia twice.
She said: “I was really excited to meet him because I watch X Factor. My favourites are Ollie and Lucie.
“I asked him if he would have picked John and Edward and he said no.”
Cowell added he would not rule out lobbying the Government to change the way hospices were funded by “doing a Jamie Oliver” style campaign and approaching Downing Street.
He said: “100%. If you don’t ask you don’t get.”
