Emily Eavis being 'Green'

On the eve of one of the biggest (and wettest) music festivals in the year, Emily Eavis has offered a few tips on making your visit to the Festival as green as possible. I am all for green but to be honest Emily the only Green that most of your visitors will be thinking about is that which you can smoke.

Anyway, here are her tips:

Top Ten Green Tips
1. If you’re going to bring wipes, please bring bio-degegradable ones.
(Bit pessimistic, how about just put them in a bin)
2. Pack realistically-don’t bring anything you’re not going to be able to take home.
(So all you kids hoping to leave your virginity at Glasto, think again)
3. Use the bin bags that you are given when you come through the gate – the green one for recyclable materials and the black bag for non-recyclables.
(And the Red ones are for all the stories of rain and mud, leave them there, we dont want to hear them)
4. Don’t leave your tent behind.
(erm….OK!)
5. In fact, don’t leave anything behind!
(this could get messy!)
6. Recycle your waste on site.
(see answer to rule 5!)
7. Re-use your water bottle/cup.
(use it as a portable toilet so you can follow rules 5 & 6)
8. Take all your tent pegs home with you.
(If I have to take my tent, then surely Im gonna take the pegs?)
9. Butt it and bin it- use the cigarette butt bins
(butt it and bin it? Sounds like something Dennis Nilsen did…google him.)
10. Vsit the Green Fields, eat in the wholesome cafés and learn some green living skills.
(obviously if you follow all these rules you will turn into a hippy and forget how to spell Visit!)
