On Tuesday I took Kayley to see my friend Julian Perretta’s gig at Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush. Having known Julian from performing with him in Pantomime, I was eager to support him and see how he was getting on, and he didn’t dissapoint!

The venue, Bush Hall, was intimate but not in a small and claustrophobic sense. I am told that Amy Winehouse, REM, Lily Allen and many other acts have played there in the past.

The warm up DJ’s who names have escaped me were a welcome suprise and gave us time to sink a few beverages. By the time Julian came on stage I was nice and merry and looking forward to hearing some ‘melodic pop’ as he so correctly put it.

Although I was dissapointed that he didn’t include his cover of my favourite song (Humans, by the Killers) his set list was extensive with every song polished with the razzmatazz and professionalism of someone with 10 times the experience. My favourites included ‘Like I Do’, ‘Ride My Star’ and his soon to be released single ‘Wonder Why’. He also treated us to a great cover of ‘Call the Shots’ by Girls Aloud, with whom he has recently supported.

Julian is now heading over to the States to begin a tour with Perez Hilton, who has been mentioning JP on his website for a very long time now, and his first single ’Wonder Why’ is available to download on the 30th August from itunes, and instores from the 31st!
