After being trounced in the ratings week after week, the BBC have finally decided to move Strictly Come Dancing to an earlier spot.
After pitching the show head to head with ITV’s X Factor this year, the singing show averaged 10.9m viewers on Saturdays compared to Strictly’s 7.8million.
By next Saturday Strictly will start at 6.50pm and end at 8.45pm, while the X Factor starts at 8pm. The shows will only overlap for 45 minutes.

The surviving members of the Bee Gees have been lined up to perform on a future episode of Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC has confirmed.
It will be their first TV performance since Maurice Gibb died during emergency surgery in 2003.
Best known for hits such as Night Fever and Staying Alive, brothers Robin and Barry will appear on 31 October.
After Maurice’s death, the brothers said they would no longer use the Bee Gees name.
Further acts
But in 2008, Robin told the BBC News website they would perform again “when the time is right”.
Last month, they confirmed that they were working together again.
“The two of us are getting back together again as we speak,” Robin – who was Maurice’s twin – revealed on BBC Radio’s Test Match Special.
Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb were one of the biggest acts of the 1970s and won multiple Grammy awards during their career.
The band’s hits spanned five decades and included Massachusetts, Night Fever, Tragedy, How Deep is Your Love and You Win Again.
A spokeswoman for Strictly Come Dancing confirmed the Gibb brothers would be performing on Halloween.
She added that more acts had been lined up for future shows, but refused to disclose any names.
Despite attracting the likes of Beyonce last year, the BBC show has so far failed to book guests to rival ITV’s The X Factor, which will see Whitney Houston take to the stage this weekend.

Here is the footage of Amy Winehouse and Dionne Bromfield on Strictly Come Dancing, strange seeing Amy in the background, but something tells me that Dionne wouldn’t have been invited onto Strictly without the support of her God-Mother Ms Winehouse. Saying that, I really enjoyed it!
